A
woman found out she was adopted after spotting a photo of her mum on social
media - taken just before she was born.
Argentinian
Silvina Martinez Pintos, 31, was shocked when she realised her mum wasn't
pregnant in the photo - despite being taken just weeks before she would've
given birth .
The
31-year-old is now searching for her biological mother after making the
discovery while browsing family photos on social media.
What
she knows about her so far is that she was 16 years old when she gave birth and
the doctor and who attended the delivery was Dr Ricardo Carminatti.
She
is hoping the power of the internet will help her find out more.
Silvina,
from the city of Mar Del Plata, in Buenos Aires Province, in south-eastern
Buenos Aires, Argentina says she is not embarking on this search for her birth
mother to judge her, but simply to know more about her own identity.
She
said of the parents who brought her up: "It was very hard to find out the
truth, since I always suspected this and they confirmed this to me but without
giving me any more details.
"I
have two children. One is very similar to my husband, the youngest looks like
me, but what intrigues me is whom I resemble.
"It's
a sentimental thing. I want to know what happened: if they told my mother I was
dead... it is a possibility. I want that closure, not to reproach anyone."
Her
full social media message reads: "Hello, I am uploading this post, adding
my photos in which I look like my biological mother. The man who is in these
photos is my adoptive father.
"I
was born in Trelew on March 27, 1985, and I learned recently that I was
adopted. A few days after, my adoptive parents took me to live in La Plata,
where I lived for 11 years until I moved to Mar del Plata (where I currently
live).
"I
would love to know about the woman who gave birth to me.
"I
only know that I was born in the Modelo clinic at 11.30 in the morning, my
biological mother was 16 years old and the doctor and who attended the delivery
was Dr Ricardo Carminatti.
"I
would be interested to find her, not to judge her. I just want to know who I
look like, if I have brothers... and just listen to her.
"It
was very hard to find out the truth, since I always suspected it and they
confirmed it to me without saying more to me than this.
"My
foster mum does not know anything else (or does not want to tell me more), my
adoptive father passed away and I want to know what happened: if they abandoned
me, if they sold me.
"I
need to know to be able to continue with my life and close this story that has
to do with my identity.
"Thanks
to all who share my story and those who have offered me their help!"
